Catholic Schools with the Dide effect, transforming differences into opportunities

The Federation of Catholic Schools, ESCACV, signs an agreement with Díde to promote inclusive schools

The Federation of Catholic Schools of the Valencian Community, ESCACV , committed to education and working for it since 1957, has shown its interest in this project for prevention, guidance, and early detection of learning difficulties and development in children and young people from 2 to 18 years old, díde.

The Regional Secretary of Catholic Schools, Vicenta Rodríguez, has signed a collaboration agreement with Díde to promote inclusive schools.

With its commitment to the díde effect, ESCACV further strengthens its desire to ensure that all children successfully benefit from their education, both inside and outside schools, and to ensure that no one is excluded simply because they are different—and who isn’t—whether this is a difference in abilities, interests, potential, or simply needs or difficulties.

More and more voices understand individual or personalized education as a necessity and that it cannot be aimed at homogenizing its students, but at guiding them in the development of their potential.

It is obvious that the early detection of learning and development difficulties has an impact on the child’s well-being and motivation. Early detection is a victory for the child, for their family, and for the educational system, as it avoids situations that can end in school failure or emotional problems derived from the lack of attention and specialized guidance.

It is estimated that around 20% of children who get bad grades and “fail” in school do so because they have emotional, behavioral, or learning difficulties that are not visible.

What is díde?

Along these lines, there are methods, such as díde, that make available to educational centers and psychopedagogical offices the possibility of preventing and detecting these difficulties, facilitating the educational counselor’s collection of information from the child’s environment (their parents and teachers answer the questionnaires online), to identify early on, without the child’s intervention, the problems that hinder their learning and development. In this way, critical years for their development are avoided, favoring their well-being and allowing them to successfully overcome the educational stage.

Saving time and cost. Up to 35 indicators are controlled without interfering in the child’s routine and providing the first guidelines for action

Dide presents a value proposition that improves current methodologies.

  1. Automated internet system, easy, fast, reliable, and affordable. Applicable from 2 years of age
  2. Savings in costs and time that are currently invested in detection and that can be derived to intervention or to the detection of a greater number of cases

  3. The child does not intervene in the detection process
  4. Global vision of the study results. Up to 35 indicators are controlled simultaneously and from different points of view (parents, teachers, support teachers…)
  5. Guidelines to follow from the first minute of detection until the results of the diagnosis of health professionals arrive
  6. Monitoring of the evolution of the minor over time
  7. More than 85% reliability of its tests. System endorsed by professional experts and official associations.

For the first time, teachers can contribute their vision about the child by participating in a questionnaire in which families also participate and receiving an immediate response about the needs of the students. The guidance report will help them know how to act in each case.

All children should be happy in their time at school, for the benefit of their education, their learning, and their development. In this way, the possibilities of school success and prolonging the years in school increase, reducing the incidence of school failure and dropout.

Those associated with Catholic Schools ESCACV already receive special treatment. From here, a call for them to join this project soon, although in a certain way they are already part of the díde effect.
