Book presentation by Ana Roa: Education – One size fits all?

On NOVEMBER 8, 2017, AT 6:00 PM, the book presentation of “EDUCATION, ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL?” written by Ana Roa and with a foreword by Irene Villa, was held. The event took place at the Professional Association of Educators, on C/ Fuencarral 101, 3rd floor.

Why the concept of a “one-size-fits-all”? Does a “one-size-fits-all” really fit everyone? Why does it still seem “normal” to us to fit into the same mold or a pre-established pattern? Why does that pattern determine our sense of belonging and affect our self-esteem?

The GRUPO VS team, the parent entity of the díde educational project, has had the honor of participating in this, her third work.

Knowing Ana Roa’s passion for emotional education, we approached our collaboration for her book by emphasizing the importance of early identification of problems that hinder the learning and development of children and adolescents, thus avoiding frustrations and low self-esteem.

“Why is coordinated and collaborative involvement necessary in the early detection of difficulties? To prevent is to prepare, to anticipate a risk in order to avoid it or minimize it as much as possible. There are a large number of problems that either go unnoticed by us, or we believe do not concern us…” (Víctor Soler. Excerpt from the collaboration for the book “Education – One size fits all?”)
