DIDE and Microsoft at SIMO EDUCACIÓN 2018: Innovating to transform the world

SIMO Educación 2018, innovative technological solutions and improvement of learning and center management processes

Under the slogan “Innovating in Education to transform the world” is presented the technological event of reference for the educational field and teaching: SIMO EDUCACIÓN 2018 organized by IFEMA, in collaboration with EDUCACIÓN 3.0, on November 13 to 15.

The fair will offer a complete vision of the innovative and technological tools and solutions at the service of the educational sector and the improvement of learning and management processes of educational centers.

Microsoft for accessibility in Education

At SIMO Educación, Microsoft has two spaces dedicated to accessibility in which, among other things, it is shown how, thanks to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and DIDE’s early learning difficulty detection software, they offer the entire teaching community, and especially psychology and guidance offices, a secure and complementary platform that will allow early detection of up to 35 special needs.

According to the WHO, more than 1 billion people in the world suffer from some type of disability, which represents 15% of the world’s population. These people require technology or content to be accessible.

Microsoft works with and has an offer of technological solutions that promote inclusive and accessible learning environments. Microsoft’s accessibility solutions help reduce learning challenges and provide all students, including those with disabilities, with the tools they need to fully participate in their classrooms and collaborate with their classmates.

“Most of the time when we talk about accessibility, we think of visible or physical disabilities, however, more than 7% of disabilities are invisible, so surely all teachers at some point may have a student or parents who will benefit if we create accessible content,” says Óscar Sanz.

Dide is a methodology and an Internet tool that facilitates a global vision of the student’s profile from 2 to 18 years to identify early their learning difficulties, development, behavior and emotions.

One of the revolutionary factors that characterizes Dide is that the questionnaires are not carried out by the children directly, but by the people who know them best: parents, teachers, tutors, etc.

The system is automatic, fast, simple, accessible, saves time and costs, and facilitates the exploration of the child WITHOUT their intervention about up to 35 indicators that influence their learning and well-being.
